Today has #TeamEliJas in a frenzy, thanks to the release of Eli Jas‘ second single, “Deseandote.” This talented young singer, New York’s Princess of Bachata, came hurtling onto the scene last spring with the release of her song “Tu Me Haces Volar” and the early recognition she received from MTV 3 (and Spanglish Noise of course – click here for the interview!!). The fact that she is a female bachata singer aside, what truly makes Eli Jas special is the emotion she oozes into every phrase, her powerful vocals that can compete with the best R&B singers out there, and a natural sense for melody. Eli Jas is an amazing talent – no doubt about it – and additional credit must be acknowledged to the man behind the curtain, the producer himself, Chris Hierro. This New York producer helps bring Eli Jas’ vision to life and I do not think I could find any faults with his work if I tried. “Deseandote” is a magnificent mambo track, infused with electronic elements of trance and dance. The production is superb, filled with lively instruments and sparkling synths that provide a well-balanced backdrop full of punches and drops that perfectly accentuate the passionate lyrics of Eli Jas. This is beauty and the beat.
