Jalil Lopez – Princesa Mia

When it comes to Latin crossover artists, it seems far more common to have artists transition from Spanish to English than vice versa; today’s video is just the opposite. If you heard of Jalil Lopez before a few weeks ago, it was most likely related to his ties with DJ Khalid and Rick Ross in the English HipHop/R&B world.  He has recently been re-imaged as a Latin artist due to his signing with Pina Records and the bachata single “Princesa Mia” (My Princess) has detonated over the Latin airwaves and can be heard everywhere from your local nightclub to standing in line waiting to order a Torta.    His life experiences have certainly prepared him well for bachata, a genre known for its heartbreak and sadness, for the death of his mother was a life-changing event that really propelled him to express his emotions through music.  This emotion and his R&B background are sure to fuel the upcoming album with immense passion.  You can expect the album to drop later in 2012.  The video is directed by Marlon Peña.
