Grab a glass of wine, cue the romantic music, and prepare your heart strings for some sweet tugs of mambo-style emotion from Miami producer-turned-singer Maffio. This new singer is extra versatile in that he is capable of approaching a track from the lyrical and musical vantage of an artist, while firmly understanding the production techniques and elements of commercial success that come with the territory of music production. With an impressive work resume that includes such names as Pitbull, Omega, Fonseca, Don Omar, and Elvis Crespo, one can only applaud his recent efforts to test his own chances as a solo artist.
Maffio’s new single “No Te Dejare de Amar” (“I Won’t Stop Loving You”), despite it’s lively mambo rhythm, carries an air of nostalgia that faithfully captures his feelings of passion amidst the struggle to save a tumultuous relationship. The accompanying video does its part to match the music, opening with an argument that results in Maffio’s amante moving out of their house – a dramatic event that haunts him throughout the song. With a melodious voice that contains just the right amount of grit for the chorus and Spanglish verses that combine singing and rap lines, Maffio is ready for the spotlight. The album Mi Sonido is said to release in July 2012. #spanglishglobal #spanglishnoise
