Niko Eme is a young Dominican-born pop/dance singer who currently resides in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul. His appearance (see above), talent, and distinctive voice have earned him the title of “The Sean Kingston of Minnesota” from Spanglish Noise. Having witnessed this young artist emerge from his bedroom studio with the primarily self-produced mixtape The End Of The Beginning, it has been exciting to watch him grow as an artist and develop an internet fanbase. He has since opened for such acts as Rakim & Ken-Y, collaborated with rising Miami producer Maffio, and The End Of The Beginning even had to be pulled from the internet because it maxed out the download agreements he had set with producers for a few of the tracks.
Growing up in countries where Spanish is the dominant language (Dominican Republic & Spain), Niko has managed to take this Latin influence and incorporate it into the English-dominated pop/dance market through bilingual tracks such as “Jealous Type.” His music is generally club-friendly and one of the first phrases you will see on Niko Eme’s Facebook Page is, “I just want to make people dance!!!“ While the energetic dance instrumentals might not always be new to listeners, Niko cleverly bares his soul to the world as he brings new topics to the dance floor, from the jealousy he feels about his girlfriend always going out with other men (“Jealous Type”) to his passionate desire to work through the joys and trials of a relationship (“Whatever It Takes“). Niko Eme is a hidden gem of the Midwest who is here to prove that Latin Music has no boundaries.
